Alan Sheketoff went to college in Florida, graduating from Jacksonville University in 1977 with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. He has been working in the Insurance business since 1989. For eight years he was the Vice President at Creative insurance Planning, specializing in the Group markets which included: Medical, Dental, Long and Short term Disability and Life insurance. He then started his own firm, MACMAN Insurance Associates, in 1997. Alan named his firm after his family: Melissa, Amy Jo, Claudia, Matthew, Annie Lyn and Nicholas.
Alan is currently an Advisory Council Member and one of the top producers for several insurance carriers, including: Anthem BCBS, CBIA, Oxford/United Healthcare, CIGNA, Connecticare and Aetna. He also has significant blocks of business with ancillary carriers including: SunLife, Standard, Hartford, Metlife, UNUM and Principal, for clients who need to be insured for Dental, Long and Short Term Disability, Life Insurance and Long Term Care.
Alan is a member of the Connecticut Benefit Brokers (CBB) and longstanding member of NAIFA. He is also a participating member of the Fairfield and Westport Chambers of Commerce, and the Connecticut Business Industry and Association (CBIA). All are major influences in helping small business in the state of Connecticut.
His mission is to help individuals and businesses to find and implement the right and most appropriate coverage utilizing the best carriers and products that fit their needs, being 100% committed to his clients, looking out for their best interest, and providing employee benefit programs for individuals and business of all sizes (with as few as 1 person self-employed to as large as 5,000 + employee groups.
Clients include companies and individuals from all different industries, which include Auto Dealerships, Law Firms, Medical Practices, Accounting Firms, Engineering and Architectural Firms and any other industry that needs to have their employees and their families insured!
Alan has also realized for the last five to six years and has now, in a major way; insure many people and their families under individual policies as opposed to group plans. The future might very well be pointing toward that happening both locally (CT) and nationally depending on what laws may be introduced at all levels up to our current President of the United States of America. Currently, Alan insures over 1,500 clients individually and that market continues to grow.
MACMAN and its team have been successful in structuring benefit plans that provide corporation with a number of benefit options as well as significant cost savings. More and more health programs are being offered and administrated “on-line” so both individuals and groups (employees and employers) are able to access important information from their computers from anywhere.
Another successful implementing at MACMAN are the Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) to both current and prospective clients as well. These are already making a huge impact on all size markets for Medical Insurance and quite possibly become the future of where many insurance plans are going for years to come!
Claudia Sheketoff, Alan’s wife, who already manages all the financial doings at MACMAN, and Nicholas, his oldest son, who is currently living and employed in Florida, are already licensed and poised to become major contributors in the business as the markets continue to change and also grow at a rapid pace.
Alan lives at home with his wife Claudia and his four children: Melissa, Matthew, Amy Jo and Annie Lyn. Also included in his home are four dogs, three cats, one fishes and one bird.
His hobbies include golf, skiing, and teaching his children to grow up and be good, responsible people. He enjoys watching all his children play sports, dance, act, and model. Most recently, he has loved seeing his older two children progress in their college years and hears about their experiences along the way.
The New York Yankees is his favorite team, BUT he will tolerate any of his clients’ favorite teams, AFTER ALL, BUSINESS IS BUSINESS!
